The distance between a stair riser and the leading edge of a door during its swing shall be not less than 300 mm.

Except as provided in Sentence (3) and where a threshold is used to contain spillage, a threshold for a doorway in an exit shall be not more than 13 mm higher than the surrounding finished floor surface.

No exit door shall open directly onto a step except that, if there is danger of blockage from ice or snow, an exit door is permitted to open onto not more than one step which shall be not more than 150 mm high.

Exit doors shall be clearly identifiable. (See Note A-3.4.6.11.(4))

No door leaf in an exit doorway with more than one leaf shall be less than 610 mm wide.

Where an exit door leading directly to the outside is subject to being obstructed by parked vehicles or storage because of its location, a visible sign or a physical barrier prohibiting such obstructions shall be installed on the exterior side of the door.
